Lionheart Theatre in Norcross- Fly'n West
I wouldn't say that I am a very cultural person or that I love the theatre but I everytime I go I have such a great time. Maybe I am lucky and just end up seeing good shows. On Saturday Robyn and I went out for a night in our little town of Norcross. We had dinner at the depot and then went to the Lionheart theatre for a showing of Fly'n West.
The Lionheart is coverted from an old church and is quite small. Max seating is about 85 and most of it is in old church pews raised up on bleachers. Initially, I was somewhat concerned about what I had gotten myself into. My elementary school plays were in a larger venue. However the setting was intimate and there isn't a bad seat in the house, although they are a little hard. The play began and the next 2 1/2 hours were a wonderful adventure of humor and controversy. The play tells the story of Nicodemus Kansas during the reconstruction era after the civil war. Mainly the story focused on the role and struggle of black women who fled to Nicodemus to escape the bigotry of the Eastern United States at that time. The characters are strong and humorous and provide many different generational views of the world. This is a show to see if you ever have the opportunity. Tickets are only $15 a person and it includes complementary coffee and deserts during intermission. I am looking forward to going to next show in March. Who knows, I might even audition.

Feds push for tracking cell phones | Politics and Law - CNET News
Most of Americans when asked would say that they would give up some freedoms in return for greater safety. Many of our politicians try to capitalize on this and use it as an excuse to turn us into a nanny state. We must always use our Constitution as a guide as it applies to those who are citizens and have declared their subscribtion to it. We cannot however continue to allow the government to infringe on these rights. The party of Hope and Change is now saying that we have "no expectation of privacy" as citizens when it comes to our cellular comunication. If this belief delevops any legs and is integrated into law the private citizen will suffer at the hands of the oppresive government.

NOAA: Blizzard Rearranges Climate Change Announcement - Washington Wire - WSJ
This article is just classic Irony with a capital I. Whats the deal? The global warming guru scientist that have been screaming about the world ending have been found out. Their data is rigged and they were caught red handed and Al Gore made his fortune. We must be good stewards of our enviroment but this fatalism and bogus science is not helping.

Dominican official: I warned U.S. church leader about Haitian kids - CNN.com
This story is just sad on so many levels. I am sure these missionaries relied on their faith and thought that they were doing the right thing. Unfortunately, their careless disregard for the rule of law and the dignity of the Haitian people bred the arrogance that led to the difficult situation in which they find themselves. I hope they are returned safely and that the situation is used as teachable moment of what not to do when training mission people. I also hope the Haitian people understand that although they are in dire straights the last thing christians want to do is break up even more families.

John Leaves for Haiti Today
John is leaving for Haiti today. I pray that he is safe and that all goes well. I cannot imagine what it is like there. I have seen some videos and of course all of the news. The devestation and loss is overwhelming. Why am I so blessed to be born in a country of plenty and why do I take it for granted so often.
